3 Day Wine Tour
Durbanville, Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch - come and enjoy the best that the Cape Winelands have to offer. Three fun-filled days with an unforgettable, personalised wine and gourmet experience. We will make sure that you experience a wide variety of South African wines across various areas - from Savignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc to Shiraz and Pinotage to name but a few. Altough we have an itinerary, we try to keep the stops as flexible as possible.
Early morning pick-up at your hotel or guest house in the Mother City. Our first stop today will be at Fairview estate, which is famous for its award-winning wines and cheeses. We then take a relaxed drive to Paarl where we sample splendid brandies and Belgian chocolates at the KWV Wine Emporium. Afterwards we will have lunch at a vineyard with panoramic views of the surrounding area. Once in Franschhoek, we'll visit La Motte and Grand Provence.
Our accommodation awaits. After booking in, there is the option of just lazing around the pool or strolling through the quaint little town of Franschhoek. In the evening we enjoy a dinner at one of the many top-class restaurants that this town has to offer. Recommended restaurants are Le Bon Vivant, Ryan's Kitchen, The French Connection and Grand Provence.
A nice relaxed start! After breakfast we visit the Huguenot Museum and rose garden, and for those who want to spoil themselves a bit there is an opportunity to visit the exclusive Le Franschhoek Hotel and Spa, where you can enjoy one of the many treatments on offer.
Our first tasting today is at one of the area's best wine estates, off the beaten track, Lynx. We then drive towards Stellenbosch and sample wine at Kanonkop, Simonsig and have lunch at Delheim. On the way back to Franschhoek, we stop at Vrede & Lust or Glen Carlou. Time pemitting we can pop in at the Roca and sample a draught or two of the beer that they produce at their micro-brewery on site. This estate has spectacular views over the entire valley and is the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely sundowner.
For dinner tonight, the choice is yours! Franschhoek is home to many of South Africa's top restaurants.
Another relaxed start. After breakfast we head out to Stellenbosch, the wine capital of South Africa. Our first tasting today will be at the award winning Tokara or Thelema and the breathtaking Stark-Conde wine estates. We then take a walk along the popular Dorp Street in Stellenbosch with its historical old Cape Dutch architecture and vibrant student life and have lunch at one of the street cafes. There will also be the opportunity to visit "Oom Samie se Winkel", an old trading post that is a must-see for any foreign visitor.
In the afternoon we a chocolate and wine pairing at the stunning Waterford Wine Estate. Final stop of the day will be at Rust en Vrede or Meerlust. A perfect ending to a wonderful tour which finishes on arrival in Cape Town.
